Climate change in the arctic: it's the biggest challenge of the 21st century. And it's a subject I have covered for years.
But I've written more. Much more. You can see a pick of my work on the left side of this page. In hindsight most of those pieces offer viable solutions on the road to sustainability. Like very energy efficient forms of light (also called 'light emitting diodes' or leds) I made in collaboration with Jan. Eating local food such as artisan cheeses (a piece I wrote for Slow Food Nederland).
Or the ultimate energy carrier hydrogen for islands or all over the world, a piece I did for P+. All those features are in Dutch.

The English section offers websurfers a more spiritual approach in the quest towards sustainability. The two parts of 'Imitators of God' are a highly extended and abbreviated version of 'Nabootsers', a piece never before published in English. Also hydrogen islands in English

But you don't have to travel abroad. Sometimes true sustainability can be found just around the corner, in place as well as in time. Take Redhuzum for example, a small village in my homeland Friesland where inhabitants generate their own energy by wind turbines and solar collectors. And take Spinoza, an outstanding philosopher from our Golden Age (17th century). He offers the ethical fundaments for sustainability the most consistent way.

Jan van der Woning

Jan made a vertical panorama of the well-known Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam to illustrate an article written by Tseard.
Vaarwel Jungle is an article about illegal logging in Kalimantan (Borneo) initiated by World Wildlive Fund (WWF) written by Annemarie Sour for Readers Digest.
Borneo, illegale houtkap is a panoramic picture story
for P+ about the same subject.

For P+ Jan makes a panorama for each edition on the first editorial spread page.
